The School of Sport, Public Services and KS4 offers a wide range of opportunities for students to develop workplace skills and to link theory to practice through organised placements in a variety of work settings.

You will be a committed and resourceful individual who is passionate, competent and experienced in coaching Football. Working closely with the head of school and other colleagues, you'll use your leadership skills to manage the recruitment of new learners, day-to-day training, league administration and matches. This involves running trials for new learners, conducting risk assessments, as well as developing strong links with the learners subject areas.  You will be outgoing, enthusiastic and have excellent organisational and communication skills.

About the role:

In this role, you will:


  1. Work alongside the Head of School and Curriculum Managers across the college to ensure KPI targets are met for learners who have joined the Sport Academy.
  2. A lead role in the coordination of all Football timetables ensuring training and matches are accessible.
  3. Manage x6 trials per year to ensure prospective learners are clear on all relevant information.

You will need:

  1. Outstanding coaching skills for the sport.
  2. Have ideas on how to promote the academy and recruit learners.
  3. a strong commitment to raising educational attainment for children and young people, including working with pupils directly and supporting other staff to do so
